Be the Next

Kay Unger spearheaded the event for new designers dubbed “b the next” at Bloomingdale’s on Thursday, April 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event benefited the next generation of designers through the Pre-College Scholars Program at Parsons School of Design. The evening featured such Parsons alums as Narciso Rodriguez, Tracy Reese, Lela Rose, Alejandro Ingelmo, Mara Hoffman, and Carmen Marc Valvo, as well as “Project Runway’s” Tim Gunn, who signed copies of his book, “Tim Gunn’s Fashion Bible.”

The Parsons Scholars program is a free, art and design college-prep program for motivated New York City public high school students from diverse backgrounds. Ten percent of each purchase of select Bloomingdale’s items will be donated to the program during the event.
